Well, this week has been exceptionally interesting and busy for me. I am in full force with my teaching practicum. It really feels good to be able to put all of the knowledge that I have gained into practice. I am working with the instructors for N4605, and they have been absolutely wonderful. I have been writing exam questions, evaluating test analysis, counseling students, and evaluating clinical performances. WOW!
I am glad that I am working with the students in the BS program, especially since my group will be evaluating that particular program. It will give me the opportunity to speak to the students and faculty that work directly with the program.
I am really juggling between my school/work/family/life schedule! It has been tough, but I know that anything that is of true value never comes easy! So, I just take it one day and one step at a time! I know that I am not alone in this endeavor.

Hi Kim, you are not alone. I am trying myself to fit it all in and still have a life. My husband and I went out to dinner last night. He needs attention too! It was good for me to break away and do something fun. I too am working on other class and working on paper today. Deb
Hi Kim, I like your enthusiasm. It felt good reading about your practicum. I am excited and hope I enjoy mine when it comes up, too. It sounds very impactful working with the students and collaborating/learning with faculty. Best wishes to you!
Congrats on your teaching endeavors thus far.
I feel your pain about family. It is hard to juggle school, work, home and family at the same time. You want to devote equal attention to all but it still goes back to time managment and prioritizing. The downside is that your priority may not be your family's priority.
It will get better (or at least that's what they keep telling me).
I can't wait to start the practicum! It sounds wonderful and challenging...
I appreciate your "filling" us in about the practicum. I was really wondering what that was going to involve. How much time of student interaction do you have?
It will definitely be an advantage for your group to be working with BSN student. The feedback should prove to be extremely valuable.
Tell us more, Kim! Not only do your classmates want to hear about it, but it will help the class project. Consider blogging when you come home in the evening from your practicum so that it gives you some time to reflect and then share.
Kim,
Hi Kim it's Kim! Well we are in the same evaluation group-BS. I'm sure that it is applicable working with the BS students. I had a meeting with Dr. Tart last week about our group evaluating the BS program and she had nothing but great stuff to say about you. Well fantastic, I look foward to getting into the meat of our project.
The balancing act is the ongoing theme of most of our blogs. I feel so lost at times, and then I have had a nightmare or two about school. I wake up in a panic like the mad hatter. Where are my shoes? What do I do next? I have to blog. I have to read. Overstimulated with an ongoing headache are how I feel. But I have a personal remedy. I make a mental or written list for the next day and I am striving to complete those tasks. If I can't oh well, I am not going to fall into a (F) and fail, I will pick back up and get moving. Not doing anything is problematic, but it sounds like you are doing, and doing and doing. So, good luck and have a great weekend.
